A Message from Cami Brumley, TEMA's CEO - message sent via email to all TEMA members.
Hello TEMA, I wanted to take a minute to update you on what is going on with TEMA during our “shelter in place” orders.
1st - Virtual Meetings are on their way
Because we can’t meet in person, we will be hosting FREE weekly “meetings” starting Thursday the 23rd and running as long as we need them. That’s right – Thursdays at 11 am, TEMA will be LIVE! Presentations will range in topics and will allow people across the state to come and learn together – all from the comfort of their own computer or device that is. Attendance at these FREE 1-hour Virtual Meetings will count as 1 PDH or Meeting attendance towards your TEMA certifications. If you can’t make a live meeting, don’t worry, we are going to be recording these meetings and placing them on our Resources page under the TEMA Can HELP section.
2nd – As you have seen from our Website and emails, we have rescheduled our Annual Conference to September 16 – 18th.
I know that many of you are asking – WHY September?? Well, that is when BOTH the Omni Corpus Christi and the American Bank Center had availability at the same time in 2020 – plain and simple.
We realize that this could be a challenging time for some, but we are doing what we can due to the current circumstances.
Postponing the Conference does not come without difficulties. One of those being that we will only be offering our TEMA courses one time in 2020. You can go to our website to see the new schedule for courses that will be offered later this year.
And lastly - though we don’t yet know what our “new” normal will look like, we DO know this… TEMA will STILL be here because YOU are still here and because of your dedication and passion for our organization. So please continue to do what you do best – spread the importance of TEMA and we will continue to give feet to your heart and to your passion. Let people know about our FREE weekly Virtual Meetings and about the ATEM online course. These are all things that people can be doing with their extra time at home. And no, this is not a shameless plug – this is what we do! We educate and we network – and none of that has to stop just because we are “sheltering in place.” TEMA Can HELP!
Before I go, I just want to say how much I appreciate each and every one of you and I look forward to “connecting” with you on the 23rd at 11 AM for the first of our Virtual Meetings. Blessings to you and your families in this season of extended quality time. Know that if you need us for anything, we are here. So until our next TEMA update, stay safe and we will see you soon!
